It looks like a very cold week ahead but we have plenty of things to keep you warm. And what could be better than some bread and soup knowing that you support your Bearwood Hub at the same time? Nothing much, really.
There is plenty in today’s newsletter, so please read on. If you feel like we are not covering something, you want to know more about or if you have some other questions, ideas or input, please leave us a comment. You can also just leave a comment to say how we brilliant this all is… Yup, fishing for compliments, but you know, that feedback is not just helpful for funding applications, it’s actually pretty much essential, so tell us all.
BREAD
Bread has been the most important discovery of humanity. I know it seems like a ridiculous statement but it’s true. It’s sad that we discount it as much today and often eat terrible excuses for bread when bread has been the foundation for what we like to call civilisation. We will never find out how the early bakers discovered that they could make flour out of grains, and that the flour can be used to make bread, but we know they did just that. Magical, really.
Thankfully today, you can just order a loaf from your Bearwood Hub and be part of that community, supporting growth and well-being on your doorstep. It’s definitely more than just a loaf of bread.
Co-working
We might think that co-working is quite a new idea, but fact is that places to work together have always existed in some forms, the Ancient Romans may have invented the office as a place of work, but they also knew about co-working… similar trades or trades that linked to each other would gather around the same neighbourhood and whilst there was competition, there was also exchange of ideas and friendship. Whilst the term co-working space hasn’t been coined that long ago, the idea behind it has been used by people on the margins trying to organise and shape their life and livelihoods.
Whilst I am not saying, that you are tapping into history when you come and work at the Bearwood Hub, I do believe that you can be part of something that might shape and define Bearwood for the better for years to come.
Book your session now.

More on Family Wellbeing
This is a group activity, providing families with skills, knowledge, education and techniques based on mindfulness and mental health. Each week is structured to include an educational aspect covering the topics: stress, anxiety and depression, boundaries, and loneliness, with 5 ways to wellbeing and bringing mindfulness into daily family life. Each session will end with mindful practice.
Young children are welcome to come along, and there will be some craft activities provided.
Thanks to SCVO (Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations) for funding this pilot.

It's our first time hosting and we're delighted to be helping out. Drop in between 11.30am and 3.30pm - the NHS team will also be providing health and wellbeing advice, and we'll give you a cuppa while you're here.
Dance for Wellbeing
Need to get moving? Fancy having a laugh and making new friends? We’re delighted to tell you about this new activity we’re offering at Bearwood Yoga. The benefits of dance for wellbeing are many and may include:
